Carolina Regales After earning her law degree in Panama, Carolina followed in her mother and sisters’ footsteps and immigrated to the United States. Coming from a less-developed nation, Carolina recognized the opportunity available in the U.S., as well as the challenges and limitations she faced at home. After coming to the U.S., Carolina attended Stetson University, where she earned her master’s in international law while also completing an internship at Maney & Gordon, P.A. Now an employee of the firm, Carolina works as a licensed immigration attorney, assisting others on their path to following their dreams of a new life in America.

Guadalupe Salas Guadalupe first came to the United States in 1995 after paying thousands of dollars and walking for three days and nights in the desert. Prior to earning his citizenship, he worked as a construction worker and was often fearful of being caught. Now a legal U.S. citizen, Guadalupe works as a roofer and continues to send money back to his family in Mexico, whom he has not seen since he left for the U.S. over 25 years ago. However, now that he is a citizen, he plans on visiting his family often. Though Guadalupe’s journey to the U.S. was not easy, he believes that it was all worth it and expresses his gratitude for the country that has afforded him new opportunities.

Jennifer Rask Prior to immigrating to the United States, Jennifer earned her BSc degree in food studies at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland and spent many years working in the food industry in her native country. She credits her sense of humor for helping her transition from her Scottish upbringing to the American way of life, allowing her to embrace the U.S. while also sharing her native culture with new friends and family. Jennifer is a wife and mother to two American children, a son and daughter. She notes how experiencing motherhood in the U.S., and the mix of cultures this brings, has opened up many interesting experiences for herself and her family.

Tom Rask Tom immigrated to the United States at the age of 18, where he attended the University of Pittsburgh and began his career. After several years, he temporarily returned to Europe to pursue a new career as an oil service engineer before returning to Sweden and attempting to engage a number of businesses in the nearly infinite possibilities provided by the internet. While his attempts to begin an online business in Sweden were, surprisingly, unsuccessful, the internet boom was already occurring back in the U.S. After returning to the U.S., Tom managed several successful online businesses. Currently, he enjoys being active in his local community and volunteering his time for political candidates he believes in.
